Global Supplier Day 2008
On 23rd October 2008 Business Line Sound Solution’s seventh annual global supplier day took place in Vienna. The popularity of the event continues to grow and this year over 90% of our purchasing volume was represented. It was particularly encouraging that we could welcome suppliers from all of our business segments.
"Co-operation for Growth" was the motto for 2008 and this formed a common theme linking together the various contributions throughout the day. Numerous presentations were made, including a strategy update for NXP Semiconductors and for Sound Solutions, the Sound Solutions product roadmap, environmental requirements, plans for the new factory in Beijing and finally an update of our Purchasing and Quality requirements.
Harald Prenner, Global Purchasing Manager for Business Line Sound Solutions was keen to underline the importance of the event, ”The Global Supplier Day is an important tool for purchasing, to ensure that our supply base has a common understanding of our requirements and is fully integrated into our way of working”. During the event, a supplier was recognized with a “Special Quality Award” for excellent long-term performance and sustainable partnership.
The Global Supplier Day is an important step in creating more integrated partnerships throughout the complete supply chain and within the areas of product creation and industrial operations.
