Franz Obenaus gets an award of Honorary Professor
As a wholly owned foreign enterprise, NXP BL Sound Solutions Beijing has operated successfully in China for about 8 years. During this period, BLSS Beijing has created direct employment for about 4000 people (550 BLSS Beijing employees, and 3400 people through Subcontractor partners). Sound Solutions Beijing not only has adopted society, but has also played an important role in terms of social responsibility and environmental protection. Franz Obenaus, COO of NXP BLSS Beijing, has established an excellent relationship with government. He set up some green projects and activities with China Government. Under his leadership, BLSS Beijing has received several awards from the Chinese government, such as "Model Enterprise" and "Advisor Company".
On June 24, 2008, an official ceremony took place at China University in Beijing. During this ceremony, Franz Obenaus was granted the award of Honorary Professor. The award was granted in recognition of Franz's strong and continuous contribution to the People's Republic of China. Franz was extremely surprized by this special honor. Franz stated: "I see it as my business responsibility to support the relationship between China and NXP".
Prof. Dr. Brigitte Winklehner (Austrian University), Minister Stefan Scholz (Austrian Embassy), Mr. Jin Tielin (President of China Conservatory Institute), Mr. Zheng Dengwen (Commissioner of Beijing Municipal Education Commission), Mr. Qiu Xiaoping (Director of Beijing Municipal Education Commission), and Mr. Franz Obenaus (COO and Senior Director of NXP Semiconductors) participated the event.
It is the first time that an Austrian business representative has received such an honor.
