Sound Solutions: Building for the Future
In April of 2001 we started production for Sound Solutions in Beijing . By December 2007 we had already delivered 1 billion speakers from Beijing . We have expanded our product range with High Diversity speakers and receivers, as well as a growing number of Headsets. For those who visit the Beijing factory, one thing is very clear: there is no more space to grow.
During the visit of the NXP EMT to Beijing in August of 2007, we presented our plans for the future. The initial green light was given to proceed with the project. After extensive analysis, we selected the BDA as the location for our new factory, working closely together with CBRE to prepare all the plans. In June of this year, we received the official ‘go-ahead’ for the investment in the new factory.
On the 10th of October, at 10:00 am, the project moved from the theoretical to the practical. From drawings on paper, and discussions in meeting rooms … we moved to the reality of creating a new factory: the ground breaking ceremony. The ceremony was attended by BLSS Beijing management, our project managers from CBRE, as well as important guests from the local government.
Immediately after the unveiling of the marker and the popping of the champagne, the air was filled with the noise of heavy trucks, as the building crew immediately started their digging activities. They have to work fast, since we have an ambitious target for opening the new factory on 9th of September, 2009.
