NXP wins the City of Vienna Environmental Award 2009
Business Line Sound Solutions was awarded by the City of Vienna with the Vienna Environmental Award 2009. The company was recognized for the substantial energy and cost savings, which it achieved by replacing wasteful ultraviolet-lamps used for adhering miniature handset speaker components in fully automated assembly lines by energy-efficient LED technology.
"This award by the City of Vienna is a special acknowledgement for our environmental management activities at our site in Vienna", said Ernst Müllner, vice president and general manager, Business Line Sound Solutions. "I’m pleased that an idea, which was generated within our continuous improvement-program, has provided impressive saving results and achieved an outstanding success within a distinguished Austrian eco-business competition. This is a good recognition for the performance and the know-how of our employees and their restless effort for continuous improvement."
